I would not be surprised to find out there are some other mental issues besides TDS as well.
Botched suicide attempt?
If that were the case the wound would be in his buttocks.

Wuss used a .22. If he was really serious, he would have used a 12 gauge.

More likely the dumbo shot himself accidentally - then decided to make himself 'heroic' by claiming it was an anti-Trump move.
The article notes this:
Inside the bathroom, campus police found a $100 bill taped to a mirror along with a note that said, “For the janitor,” ...
I'm going to go with he shot himself on purpose as a not-really-well-thought-out protest. I will wager that this is why the university buried the story so quickly.

Example 4,458 why gun control advocates don't think anyone should have guns... because they know that they themselves are too stupid to have them.
Honestly I think a great deal of it is projection on their part. They can't trust themselves with a firearm and assume the rest of us are as out of control emotionally as they are so we can't be trusted with them either.

A longtime College of Southern Nevada sociology professor is facing felony gun charges in connection with an on-campus shooting on the second day of classes.

Mark J. Bird was charged last month with discharging a gun within a prohibited structure, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and possessing a dangerous weapon on school property, court records show. He was found bleeding from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his arm about 8:15 a.m. on Aug. 28 outside a bathroom in the Charleston campus K building.

...

While waiting for authorities to arrive, Bird said he had shot himself in protest of President Donald Trump, police noted in their report.

More likely the thought that if he framed it as a protest, he could escape consequences under the 1st Amendment.
I'd love to see the judges face if he tries making that argument in court.

I dont think the first amendment trumps breaking other laws. he clearly didnt think it thru. just goes to show just because you have a piece of paper from an accredited college, doesn't mean you're smart. lol

:iagree:

He left a $100 bill taped to the mirror, for the janitor, who he assumed would have to clean up, I don't think he was protesting as much as he was, jumpy, while aiming.

If he wanted to protest the availability of AR-15's, he should have shot himself with one, instead of with a .22 derringer....... :evil2:

Maybe they should just ban professors, who watch too much MSM, and buy 2 shot derringers.

Not sure I believe any of it. I think he just chickened out at the last second, and hit his arm instead of his noggin. Wouldn't be surprised, if he doesn't attempt another "protest" JMHO

In what sane world would this man not be locked into a mental facility for a long, long time? he should never have the ability to attempt another "protest" or anything else.

But since this is CA, I expect we will see him in the U.S. Senate soon enough.

Actually it was Nevada, but they are almost as bad, as Commifornia. Yeah, I'm betting, if I staged a protest, like this, I would be locked away for a long time. I guess since he said he was "protesting" Trump, guns, climate change etc. They didn't want him to be in a mental facility, during the midterms.
