First Rubio now, David Hogg slams John McCain. I have been noticing these folks have been bashing the middle of the road Republicans the hardest.

I thought 4.0 was the maximum possible GPA. Google seems to agree with me on that.

Or is this like the scene from Spinal Tap where he's shopping for amps and the salesman tells him "this one's better, it goes to 11"?

If your in AP (advanced placement, or GT) classes, you to to a 5.0 scale.
So essentially its more like a 3.5 or so on the old scale. It's hard to get an exact translation because some classes still have a 4.0 max. Basically makes GPA less meaningful as a comparison tool, IMHO.

Class ranking matters a lot also, especially in Texas. Being in the top 5% or 10% of your class is a huge plus in applications. That also makes comparisons more difficult, since a top 5% kid at one high school may barely be able to make the top 50% at a different high school. Apparently it's not unheard of for parents to move their kids into a less competitive school for their senior year so they can graduate in the top 5% (may need to do this for their last 2 years to work based on a conversation I had with my wife).

He doesn’t want to ban guns. He just wants better mental health care. Better definitions of mental illness. And background checks for all gun purchases and transfers.

They point to his wekipedia page as proof he is not after our guns.

Did I get this kid all wrong?

Any proof to the contrary?

Did you ever hear the story about the boy at the bottom of the hill and the snake that promises he will not bite if he is carried to the top of the hill??

How many times a day could you say this? :cheers2:

Are you serious? Sarcasm can sometimes fail to come across in written form.

Take a look at his comments regarding the NRA. He does not consider the organization, which means it's members, to be honorable people. This is an ignorant kid who is getting more air time than he ever should have because he is parroting infantile beliefs that happen to align with those who lead the media and who want to take power away from the people and give it back to the rulers, just like the utopia that existed pre-1776.

He is also an arrogant punk who thought it was "cool" to insult a sitting president of the U.S. That's won him favor with folks on the left who can't see past their own hate. I can't imagine that the press would be giving this type of love to any kid who had hung up on Hussein Obama.

So in real world terms, he has an 84 (out of 100) avg. As Lili Von Stupp said in Blazing Saddles, "how ordinary".....

John McCain deserves every slam directed his way. He is the poster child RINO and a disgrace.

I'm not a fan of his politics either, but there are plenty of healthy people who can be in those cross hairs.

I respect the man for his service. But he needs to move on and let someone younger and healthier take his place.

His physical state is no excuse whatsoever for how he conducts himself as a GOP Senator.

I wonder why no outrage about Emma bullying the shooter and admitting to doing it? Sort of a double standard there.

Double standards and hypocrisy are trademarks of progressive socialists.
