I think Cruz, Cornyn and Burgess are pretty solid,
Corynyn is solid for more gun control, an is working with Feinstein to make it happen.
Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., are seeking a legislative middle ground between Cornyn's bill, which would impose a three-day delay for those on the list, and Feinstein's bill, which would ban people on the terror watch list from buying guns

I did it yesterday.
Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence. - John Adams
I have given up on Cornyn but Ted has been sent several starting Sunday. I have not only sent them to DC I have reached out to every State Rep. This is going to be a fight from our local city councils, to the Oval Office. Fear mongering and misinformation is running rampant and the people we sent to protect our rights are once again caving to perceived public opinion on CNN.

"Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, has a dueling measure to delay a gun sale for 72 hours, but require prosecutors to go to court to show probable cause if they want to block the sale permanently.
Yes - if you're blocked, then the govt has 72 hours to prove its case in front of a court, with the same level of proof as they would show for a warrant.
72 hours is the delay that's already in place for NICS checks that are kicked back. I think this is reasonable, and puts the burden of proof on the govt to get a warrant, not on the citizen wrongly added to the list to prove their innocence.

I'm going to trust the NRA on this one (don't trust Cornyn, but that's another discussion) but I have grave reservations about Republicans proposing anything as a response to this latest shooting. I hate to see this door even cracked open for fear that the left will once again find a way to hijack our good intentions. I don't trust current GOP leadership to slam the door shut if they do.
I kinda understand what they're trying to do, but as it stands now, they can't deny a firearm purchase simply because someone is on the terrorist watch list, correct? Well, if we're going to allow those folks to be denied firearms, can we not similarly deny them, say, the ability to get on a computer/internet, or vote, or travel without permission? Wouldn't that better expose the supposed issues with the "terrorist watch list"?
I fear that the left has latched onto this "terrorist watch list" thing as it relates to gun purchases and is trying to use it to trick us into some broader restrictions. And again, I don't trust current GOP leadership to hold the line, much less use this as a wedge issue to force vulnerable Dems to take anti-gun votes.
Sorry, I'm probably just paranoid. It just seems to me like we shouldn't be addressing whatever perceived problems we have with the "terrorist watch list" under the umbrella of "gun control". Am I missing something?

Email sent, but I also always like to send a fax. It's just as easy to File 13 a faxed letter as it is an email but, correct or not, I've always felt that physical piece of paper carried just a bit (no pun) more weight to it. Faxes sent yesterday afternoon.

So other words if the court decides to block the sale then YOU will have to pay big lawyer fees and spend years tied up in court in order to purchase a firearm?
Then what happens of the Dept on INjustice under Hillary or Bernie decide to label you a terrorist because of your "views"? Remember what the IRS did to "right wingers" with the audits?

while not ideal this at least calls for due process and going before a judge to rule. though it will probably end up flooding the court systems which are already overloaded.
