British Firearm Laws...

#1

Post by The Marshal »

Just read this yesterday on another forum, from a guy in London area...
Got a loud bang on the door this afternoon, with shouts of 'Armed Police!' Opened the door to be confronted by 6 coppers in body armour armed with M4 type rifles and Glochs! Had a search warrant shoved in my hand, and was immediatley handcuffed. They then stormed my flat.

They then showed me a photo taken on a mobile phone of my bedroom, with my deactivated AKM on the wall. It was taken by a council worker who had come around to inspect for asbestos, before my bathroom and kitchen is refurbished. I was not a happy bunny I can tell you.

So they went around the house searching top to bottom. Took all of my rifles, smgs, and pistols, and all of the deactivation certificates. Copper says they all have to be tested by forensics, to see if they can be converted back to live fire. They even took my daughters M4 airsoft! They also said that even if they are proven to be safe, I most probably won't get them back! Copper says I can claim compensation if this happens.

Everything I had was legally purchased from reputable firearms dealers, all have the proper documentation. Fellow British collectors be warned.
Further posts show that he has complained to the police and his Member of Parliament and they are not the least interested in helping him.

If Hillary wins the election, this will become a common occurrence here. They have the authority to break down your door and search for weapons on just the word of someone. This is the type of gun laws the left wants to see passed here. I feel for the guy in England, but they have allowed themselves to be turned into sheep.

It won't become a common occurrence here. Connecticut was threatened with armed insurrection if they tried confiscating rifles that weren't registered. New York didn't even bother threatening it after seeing that. Even if 100% of the military and police went along with laws like that, they are still outnumbered 50 to 1 (roughly).

To quote my old 84 year old neighbor Willa, from when I lived back in CA, "getting Into my house is easy. Getting OUT is much harder."

Let 'em come and take them.

I read some of the British shooting magazines. They are constantly complaining about restrictions and licensing problems for even shot guns and clay shoots. They seem to have air guns down to a science. During WWII we sent them guns to protect their homeland. They may yet need it again. I really feel sorry for the guys that are just like us as far as wanting to be able to shoot but so handicapped. It frightens one to read about their blight because our politicians want to bring that here too.

TAM, I don't know how you keep digging up these gems, but please don't ever stop.

That quote exactly and completely explains my philosophy on the subject. It is my fervent hope that, if the time comes, I am able to live up to it.
Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence. - John Adams

It is part of a longer poem attributed to him:
So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart.
Trouble no one about their religion
Respect others in their view
And demand that they respect yours
Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life
Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people
Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide
Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend
Even a stranger when in a lonely place
Show respect to all people and grovel to none
When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living
If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself
Abuse no one and nothing
For abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision
When it comes your time to die
Be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death
So that when their time comes
They weep and pray for a little more time
To live their lives over again in a different way
Sing your death song
And die like a hero going home
This is my personal code.

Now is the time. ISIS could go through London with just four teams of five members each performing as many quick hit and run attacks as they could and it would paralyze the city if not the entire country. The Brits are a special kind of stupid for getting themselves set up like turkeys with their necks stretched across the chopping block.

After considerable more thought and at the risk of being thought of as a conspiracy theorist the fact they haven’t already done this makes me wonder if they are actually as dangerous as we are led to believe.
God Bless America, and please hurry.
When I was young I knew all the answers. When I got older I started to realize I just hadn’t quite understood the questions.-Me

I've been watching a lot of British crime series on Netflix. Midsomer Murders is great and so is Foyle's War. But I never stop cringing every time these poor defenseless detectives and street cops are in situations that are life threatening, and they have absolutely no self protection. Boggles the mind.
