CA: Gun Club Put Out of Businees - Lead Pollution

California comes up with another way to make life hard on gun owners. The claim is the lead from spent bullets is leaching into the ground.

While looking at that article I saw this other, where they ran the last remaining gun store in San Francisco out of business with new regulations.

Who will CA politicians point the finger at for thier failed leadership when this step fails to bring the gun violence down in the city?

As we know this last gun store leaving SF will not impact the criminal use of guns in that City one bit..., even though that is what City leadership is selling the public.. How will they explain away the results in a year's time?

I have been to that range. It was the only 500 yard range in the area.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do it to other ranges. :mad5

They already did it to the first shooting range in California I ever went to - Fish Canyon, between Azusa and Monrovia.

I've shot at Chabot a lot. It is far back in the mountains and well away from anyone and anything about halfway up a peak. The range is clean, beautiful and well run.

This is ridiculous and will be a sad loss of a great range.

Wonder if they'll try that with any of the military bases.

Are you kidding? We’re talking about California. Most of them can’t remember anything that happened last week and don’t care. It’s the ganja.

Despite the fact that "A Park district spokeswoman said no trace of lead has been found in the lake."
This is the most telling sentence in the whole article. I think most of us knew the reason prior to reading this, but you'd think that even someone of below average intelligence would be able to read this and understand that the "pollution" argument was just an excuse. It's all about how closing this range down will make these folks feel.

If you can't legislate it out of existence, then regulate it out of existence. It's the California way!

Seems to be the liberal way, not just the Kalifornia way.

You forgot the third one, tax it out of existence.

I'd consider taxes to be financial regulations. Six of one, half a dozen of the other, but taxed for eight.
