Federal Gun Free School Zones Act

#1

Post by mojo84 »

A comment on another thread prompted me to do some research on this law. I stumbled upon this. Not sure how reliable the source or accurate the information but thought some may find it of interest. If the information is accurate, seems like the GFSZ act is a poster child for unintended consequences. Note, the blog post is a few years old.

The analysis, incorrectly IMO, puts forward "correlation" as "cause".
IMO, a bigger contributor to school shootings has been media sensationalism of such events. Still hard to prove causation.

Like saying criminals taking advantage of predominately unarmed citizens is not caused by that fact, but simply a correlation.
