I don't know if everyone would consider this the correct forum category or not. Either way, use the subject phrase to compose sentences that resonate with your view of licensed carry in Texas as food for thought for others. Some that come to mind for me are:
... know that actions have consequences.
... realize that Police or Security personnel cannot always protect them.
... understand that there is no legal duty for Police or Security personnel to ever protect them.
... value their own life as much as anyone else’s, and more than the life of someone who would attack them without provocation.
... therefore rationally decide to carry a force option for use in dire emergency.
... undergo a background check as part of licensing.
... have been legally armed in public for over 20 years now.
... are less than 1/10th as likely as other citizens to be convicted of a crime.
... pray that they will never need to use their firearm against someone else.
... help deter crime by simply choosing to be armed.
... care deeply about individual Liberty and responsibility.
... enjoy the liberty of being legally openly armed since 1 January 2016.

I think we need to keep some sort of talking points handy just in case anyone of is the one who gets put in front of a camera or just to engage others who are interested in hearing in conversation.
Chance favors the prepared. Making good people helpless doesn't make bad people harmless.
There is no safety in denial. When seconds count the Police are only minutes away.
Sometimes I really wish a lawyer would chime in and clear things up. Do we have any lawyers on this forum?

... recognize that it is the police's responsibility to draw the chalk outline, but it is your responsibility to make sure it's not your outline.
Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence. - John Adams
