Can't wait to see how OC goes tomorrow

#1

Post by Texsquatch »

So I just checked an article in the Austin American Statesman that briefly explains the OC changes. I love reading reader's comments and this one didn't disappoint my low expectations. While I do plan to OC a bit, people like this worry me if I'm spotted doing threatening activities such as walking through the park, or shopping for milk.
I don't plan to learn the when, where, why, how, who, or what about the new complicated Open Carry and Campus Carry gun laws.

I will just call 911 when I see someone with a gun; I don't plan to ask the gun-hugger if he intends to rob or kill me or just try to intimidate me or get me to do something to justify his shooting me.

Life was already hard enough without this crap foisted upon us by our pseudo-religious, pistol-whipped, cowardly elected officials. Heaven is a gun-free zone, boys.

I was hoping that some of ya'll would post up your experiences after midnight tonight to let us know how things went for them.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

And I hope they get the response from law enforcement that if the person carrying has it in a holster and isn't doing anything out of the ordinary, that it's perfectly legal and too bad, good day to you, end of conversation.

I went for a stroll downtown in Elgin. Not much to see. The American Legion was the only thing open. None of the few others strolling the sidewalk noticed. As expected, based on my previous experience in other states. Saw a few fireworks. Only real excitement was the volunteer fire department scrambling to answer a call.

I'll be out for real about 6:30am for breakfast, then I'll take my wife shopping all day. ;-)
