California is a liberal's paradise
Police May Confiscate Guns without Notice to Owner Starting January 1 Constitution? What Constitution?
The Constitution preserves the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation where the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. James Madison

Re: California is a liberal's paradise
It is beyond me how anyone would want to live there (under the current state government).
Re: California is a liberal's paradise
On the thought such a thing could come to pass here, according to the article it requires a judges order based on supposed testimony from family, friends, whoever decides to open thier mouth for whatever reason.
Does an individual have any real options in the face of this?
Ie: if the cop show up and say 'hand them over' you have no choice? Is whatever court order issue equal to a search warrant, if not then does an individual have the legal right to tell them "I don't consent to any conversations with you and you neither have the authority to search my private property nor my consent to any searches...have a nice day"
I worry about things like this as it is ripe for abuse from a revenge standpoint, not to mention any statist politician would love to have this kind've power.
Whoever decides to 'get even' goes to the "authorities" and whines about "I'm scaaared" for whatever bull pretext, under the current legal system you are treated as if you are guilty unless you can prove yourself innocent. According to the article whoever decides to open thier mouth is grounds enough, your side of the situation is not required, which means a court order can be obtained and LE shows up automatically.
I have insufficient trust in the combination of the statist mentality of a lot of politicians within this state, the current state of our legal system, and the mindset of some LE. With something like this in place, it again is something ripe for abuse and an even more dangerous thing with the above mentioned combination. There are politicians and some amongst LE who would advocate for something like this, it isn't here as of now but this is something we might hear about and possibly face, what are some legal options an individual has to protect himself, if any?
Mr Cotton, any thoughts or suggestions from your side of the fence?

So Explain this to me. If a so called friend wants to rob or do harm to you and your family all he has to do is report you? You have no action you can take before they take your weapons away?

It's a wonder that California voters are able to dress themselves in the morning.

USSR established Dec 30, 1922...Kinda fits to this thread.

Re: California is a liberal's paradise
Too bad we can't just cut california off, and let them have their super liberal government there and then not allow them to touch the constitution for the rest of the states. Then when they fail miserably they are on their own.
