I don't know what they are planning to gain from this. Hope the companies can afford to make a fight of it.

It appears that S&W isn't exactly going after customizers for customizing the guns. They're going after them for modifying and then selling S&W guns. I'm not sure which side I land on, but I can understand why they don't want these guns at SHOT show and sold.

Well it appears that there was enough bad publicity. They apologized to the people and companies involved.

Good! Those guns are awesome and I don't see how they can actually harm S&W.

I will never even consider buying one now. That is absolutely ridiculous, and I could really care less if they "apologized." They knew what they were doing, and I hope they go out of business because of this.

Well I'm glad they apologized...because I just bought a S&W M&P logo "tactical" backpack. To carry my computer, chargers, and other nerd paraphernalia, of course.

Be careful what you wish for... There is no good that can come from a firearms manufacturer going out of business except fewer choices. Regardless of whether or not you like them, at minimum they create market competition. Just food for thought... :tiphat:

S&W has also made Steve's pages stevespages.com remove all pdf files of their manuals. For those that don't know, Steve's pages is probably THE source for a gun manual if you don't have one. Steve is deceased and others keep the site going. Consider donating some money to help and if you have a manual not listed consider sending it to the site.

The current story for public consumption is that "low level" staffers were responsible, and the executives fixed it as soon as they found out about it.

Without commenting on the obvious issue of just how credible their walkback is, I'm happy to see that they retracted their nonsense after a hearty blowback from their customers.

Details here.

Benelli had a similar situation with a guy down in Corpus doing after market stuff to some of their M2's. What did they do? They got him under contract and then sell the guns with a warranty It's the Benelli M2 3-Gun model.

You're right, I am being a little harsh. Ha but still that really pushed my button!
