I don't believe there will be an ammo shortage. The markup for those who were waiting in line to sell it, isn't there!
Those who rushed out and bought post Sandy hook, have been sitting on their stash and waiting!
I don't foresee a panic gun buy either. Again, sandy hook took care of that need.
I'm waiting to find the right "next" gun and will purchase it when I want it. I'm not going to respond in a panicked way, there is no need! We have the house and Senate and the Dems are clinging to the 3rd rail and its going to kill them!
I want Hillary to run on a anti-gun narrative! Come election time, she'll be beat over the head with her primary campaign promises.

Maybe, maybe not.....that assumes that every potential new buyer bought back then and no one has since considered, and ignores purchases for speculation of guns, not just ammo. It also depends on what legislation is proposed and how much media propaganda supports it. After Sandy Hook the talk was mostly of prospective bans and registration of existing guns, like in New York. Remember the refrain was no one wants to take your guns....a transparent lie but invoked routinely. Now they're openly calling for confiscation. A bill introduced to confiscate ARs and AKs might well clear the shelves of both guns and ammo in the respective calibers.cprems wrote:I don't believe there will be an ammo shortage. I'm not saying it won't happen but this time we have both the Senate and House. Trying to pass some kind of gun bill after a terrorist attack will be the political death of anyone touching it. Americans are very uneasy right now especially with the failure to act coming from this WH and administration. If one cannot identify the enemy, one cannot engage in a manner to secure the homeland and the freedoms we have.VMI77 wrote:Maybe, maybe not.....that assumes that every potential new buyer bought back then and no one has since considered, and ignores purchases for speculation of guns, not just ammo. Re: NYT Front Page Editorial Calling for Gun Confiscation
I love it when someone in the media says they are demanding or calling for gun control. Who and the heck cares what these morons are demanding or calling for in the first place. They don't have any more votes than the rest of us. When they start reporting the news instead of opinions I might start listening to them.

I ordered a bunch of "standard" capacity pmags just in case. Right from Magpul...better prices than I'm seeing in the stores, free Fedex shipping on orders over $75. Pretty well set on everything else.cprems wrote:I'm not saying it won't happen but this time we have both the Senate and House. Re: NYT Front Page Editorial Calling for Gun Confiscation
I went to my local Academy yesterday to pick up a few boxes of .357 mags. ONE (1) box on the shelf. Couldn't even get up to the gun counter to ask if they had any more because they were so crowded with people buying handguns and shotguns. The fact that so many were buying guns offset my annoyance of not getting ammo.

1,000 rounds of 9, 1,000 rounds of .45, 500 rounds of Wby .270, 500 rounds of 12 gauge 00. I'm good for a bit.

Re: NYT Front Page Editorial Calling for Gun Confiscation
Doesn't seem like a lot to me....I can go through 300 to 500 rounds of 9 in an afternoon....and I rarely open a 100 round box without shooting all of it. I expect to have gone through 2,000 rounds of 9 before New Years and probably several hundred rounds of 45. If another family member is shooting with me the count goes even higher.Redneck_Buddha wrote:1,000 rounds of 9, 1,000 rounds of .45, 500 rounds of Wby .270, 500 rounds of 12 gauge 00. I wonder how many guns Obama sold yesterday in anticipation of his speech last night.

Same thing happened to me recently. Very tragic.
