I went there today and they have the 30.06 signs on all the doors and the gun buster logos. I thought those weren't legal at that place?

I'm not sure the museum is owned by the city.

We have a winner. Someone needs to send them the notice letter.

Plus, the last time I checked, the signs were no larger than a standard letter sized piece of paper. Not enforceable because the signs are too small. Not enforceable because it is owned by the city. Sounds like they do, indeed need to be called out.

we've always gone in from the parking garage, they've never had a sign on that door.

They've had signs of one sort or another around intermittently for many years. Wording, size, location, it's all pedantic to me - government owned is government owned. Hasn't stopped be from carrying right past them in the past, and it shan't in the future. YMMV.

Maybe it's a school like the Houston Zoo

Fort Worth's kids museum is also on city property, and posted 30.06. They are not a school, but I will be darned if EVERY SINGLE TIME that I have ever been in there that there hasn't been 2-3 legitimate school or daycare groups in there on a field trip.

I might file just to be a pain in their rear. Might take the kids there tomorrow while I am home with them just to get a picture of the sign.

Whether there is a legitimate school or daycare present is not relevant. We do not have to disarm every time a bus of kids (band, sports, debate, daycare, etc.) stops at a zoo, museum, restaurant or any other place business because they are on a field trip. Now, if you are part of the field trip accompanying them that would prohibit you, but not any another LTC holder.

The signs are all over the front doors and the one coming from front outside that goes to the parking garage and gift shop right by the huge geode. I wish i had taken a pic.

Yea i be willing to bet the would try to claim the school exemption.

How do i find a complaint with the city of houston though? I found the attorney general form online but it says i have to complain to the governing city first.

The HMNS, Houston Zoo and some other parks and museums claim to be private or public depending on which is most convenient.

They would probably claim to be a restaurant too because they have a mcdonalds if that got them some good exemption.

My issue is not so much carrying inside is that outside and in that area isn't all that nice once you get a few blocks away. And that you don't have controlled access through the front door so anyone can walk into that place.
