Fire Mission: MSNBC poll on carrying guns in public

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

Fire Mission: MSNBC poll on carrying guns in public

#1

Post by ELB »

MSNBC is running a poll that asks "Do you think people should be allowed to carry guns in public?"

They try to split the "yes" vote by providing two variations of "yes" as an answer, but only one "no."

- Yes! The Second Amendment guarantees it.

- No! It's too dangerous.

- Only for self-defense.

However the ploy is backfiring badly. At this writing 92% (251,000) votes are for "Yes! The Second Amendment guarantees it." "No it's too dangerous" polls at 5%, and "Only for self-defense" polls at 4%.

Internet polls are bogus as true statistics, but they have political impact, so go dump on MSNBC. Only takes a couple clicks.

Done...254K for Second Amendment, another 10K for self defense. The antis will never even use this, so I'd say "mission accomplished".

Done and though I've no interest in Open Carrying, I voted in favor of doing so.

92% for 2A. It looks like their attempt at splitting the vote isn't going very well.

I believe this may be an old poll. The comments at the bottom of the page are a year old. :read:

Done! 270K votes for 2A. I see one post says this may be an old poll but you can't go wrong in preventing rights being taken away.

You might be right, I looked for date on the poll itself and didn't see anything. This poll was getting play on Instapundit and on Twitter. Doesn't matter if it is old, it's still fun to do donuts in MSNBC's front yard. :evil2:

MSNBC has done several gun-related polls in the past, on things like open carry and campus carry, and they always get clobbered by 2A supporters.

Who said anything about open carry? :headscratch
