Checkout new bills

#1

Post by Charles L. Cotton »

We are getting more bills filed and and few have been referred to committees. We're going to have a bumper crop of noise bills, so please be sure to watch for updates on the Bill Status Report.

We are not asking for phone calls and faxes merely by posting a bill, but we do want everyone informed of what's in the works.

Thanks,
Chas.

Charles, just curious, what is the driving factor for these bills? Is it neighborhood expansion, traffic related, airport expansion? Just wondering why these bills are coming in?

Thanks for your insight.

At least part of it is like happened up at Collin County, neighbors move in next to a range, don't like the noise,. so they try to get it legislated out of existence.

A lot of noisy outdoor activities in unincorporated areas of the county have generated this push. As Jim said, shooting ranges are part of the motivation, but so are outdoor concerts, car races and pig farms. These bills pose a danger to far more than outdoor shooting ranges and I hope those industries get involved.

I just finished a 45 minute emailing and faxing effort and have contacted almost every racetrack in the state to make them aware of these bills, and the potential effects.
My good deed for the day.
