Do you support only unlicensed open carry?

For those of you who support open-carry in Texas, would you support only unlicensed open-carry, or would you support licensed open-carry. I asking because it seems a very large percentage of people supporting open-carry are doing so, at least in part, because it avoids the licensing process.
Chas.

I'd rather see unlicensed carry, but to get the ball rolling, I'd be OK with licensed carry so hopefully, unlicensed carry could happen later on.

I have a real problem with this issue.
#1 we all know the 2nd admendment insures our right to BEAR arms. That said we have all been focused on just KEEPING arms.
#2 If I were a LEO, I would have no problem with the CHL. I would however have a problem with just anyone being able to strap on a handgun and walk around. I know there would be some restrictions on age and perhaps past jail time... but it would put my life in danger every time I stopped one of these people to check there record.
I can not suport unlicensed open carry; I do this fully beliveing that the 2nd admendment does.

My preference, expressed previously, would be for "Vermont Style" carry, concealed, or unconcealed without a permission slip from the state. Failing that, CHL holders should be allowed the option of unconcealed, but the laws would need extensive revision, and as Charles has pointed out there are many threads tangled in the law and pulling just one out is nigh on to impossible.

I'd support licensed open carry.
My dream law would be open carry, unlicensed with similar restrictions as in force for CHL's now, then licensed open or concealed carry for CHL'ers with many fewer restrictions, keeping perhaps bars and courthouses.

I support anything that advances the 2nd amendment in the broadest sense possible... unlicensed open would be great, I'll take what I can get.

Nice post! I could not of said it better myself (besides the spelling that is.)
I personally believe that even the 2A Right has to have parameters and not be carte blanche for all.

Do I need to post my true beliefs on the 2A and RKBA?
I would welcome licensed OC as a start.
I are a realist sometimes.

If I am reading the questions right, both answers support OC in one form or another. At this point, I do not. I might need to visit an open-carry state for a week or so to see if I revise my opinion. But right now, I have my doubts regarding the wisdom of it.

This is a tough question. Even though I think we all agree that to Keep and Bear Ams and Free Speech should neither require a license to exercise your rights; I think we can also agree that words are easier to protect against than bullets when either start flying.
I guess that means I'm ok with licensing in order to carry concealed or open just to better control the training.
After listening to all the rhetoric during the recent election I may even be OK with licensing before exercising Free Speech.
Cheers,

"....endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that amoung these are Life, Liberty......"
When we accept the License we give up the Right!
I typed a whole bunch more, but then I deleted it.
