Ted Cruz, probable TX AG condidate

Post by Rex B »

From Wikipedia. Sounds like a guy that deserves our support.

"Cruz has authored more than 70 briefs before the United States Supreme Court and presented 33 oral arguments, including eight before the United States Supreme Court. In the landmark case of District of Columbia v. Heller, Cruz assembled a coalition of 31 states in defense of the principle that the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution guarantees an individual right to keep and bear arms. Cruz also presented oral argument for the 31 states joining the amicus in the companion case to Heller before the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. In addition to his efforts in Heller, Cruz has defended the Ten Commandments monument on the Texas State Capitol grounds, the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools and a Texas congressional redistricting plan. Cruz also defended, in Medellin v. Texas, the State of Texas against an attempt by the World Court to overturn criminal convictions handed down by the state courts of Texas."

Ted is a great guy, but if Greg Abbott is running for reelection, then I don't see Ted running against him, or winning if he does. Greg is the best friend gun owners have ever had as AG.

Cruz has said he will run only if Abbot does not.
Abbot is his mentor.

I was hoping Greg's next stop would be the Governor's mansion.

That would be a positive change...
