SENATE

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

COMMITTEE: Criminal Justice

TIME & DATE: 11:45 AM or upon adjournment
Thursday, March 31, 2011

PLACE: Senator Whitmire's Desk
CHAIR: Senator John Whitmire

To consider pending business.

SB 354 Wentworth | et al.
Relating to the carrying of concealed handguns on the campuses of institutions of higher education.
Students for Gun-Free Schools has already planned to show up in support of an opt-out amendment. I'll try to get out of class to make it, but we need to have a show of force that says that the only opt-out is to be on an individual level.

Thanks, I just caled them all earlier

I'm PRO-CHOICE
INDIVIDUALS should have the "right to choose" when it comes to SELF-protection.

Not "individual colleges" who can not protect me and are paid by my taxes .

The "INDIVIDUAL" RIGHT of "SELF-PROTECTION" has nothing to do with little governmental divisions running around trying to assert power over us, except that we have the right to protect ourselves FROM that.

See the Third Amendment and see "without consent" (not under duress)
Then see the Second Amendment and realize the relationship of the Second to the Third.

Individual Rights need to be restored.

They aren't taking more testimony right? I'm rather tired of hearing John babble nonsense
I'm guessing they'll go visit each Senator's office prior to the meeting or something?
perhaps they'll just all clap when Ellis mentions the opt out junk? ....that's their style

I just called, they aren't taking testimony tomorrow. The hearing is solely for a vote on the bill.

That's what I figured, so all we'll see/hear is John Woods group clapping and cheering when Ellis says small dictatorships should control the individual right of self-defense and Personal Safety, although they have proven they always fail.

He is spamming everyone to be there and they are meeting on campus to walk together there to the meetin'
(Like his "secret service/safety in numbers" bodyguard group.)

Maybe mob mentality explains why none of them can make a rational argument.
I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.
