This semester will be a very important one for our organization. Bills to allow licensed concealed carry on college and university campuses will be voted on in the Texas legislature in the coming months. We will need everyone’s help to get the bills passed and will have several opportunities for you to show your support. However, tomorrow we ask that everyone take a break from politics and help a local family in need.
On January 6th, Nolan Flowers, Texas A&M SCCC’s advisor, passed away. He and his wife, Kim, who passed away October 20th, left behind four young children. Unfortunately, Mr. Flowers was unable to attain life insurance because of a heart condition so the boys were left with no financial support when he passed.
Tomorrow (Saturday) the Kroger on Rock Prairie in College Station is hosting a BBQ fundraiser to help the Flowers family. We encourage everyone to attend and show your support for this family during their time of need. The fundraiser begins at 11am and will continue until 5pm. We hope to see you there.
If you are unable to attend, you can still show your support and make a donation. The Facebook event link below has information on how to do that, as well as additional information on the bbq.

For those who do not have a facebook account but wish to donate, donations can be made at Bank of America. The savings account number is 586023930684 and the name on the account is Susan Solich (the boys' grandmother).

Have you considered:
http://www.giveforward.com/
I think it might allow more flexibility for those who want to help.
I used it to donate to the Houston store owner who was injured in a shootout with three robbers who had tied up his wife. Fortunately he manage to kill them before they they finished him.
My condolences to the Flowers family.
