Yeah. Must be some sort of laser-y thing though since guns aren't allowed there.

You're mistaken. Only the decent people are prohibited from having handguns.

In the final days of her tenure as Attorney General and head of the Department of Justice, Loretta Lynch telephones Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel and says, "Pot, this is kettle. You have a problem."

And the Chicago Tribune even posts a
weekly-updated map and list of the most recent shootings in Chicago. The year ended with 4,368 people shot and 762 murdered; 2017 has already seen 104 shootings. There were 480 murders in 2015, the most in the city since 1997. They positively shattered that record in 2016.
Questions for Chicago:
1) How's that ultra-left Obama crony Rahm Emanuel workin' out for you as mayor?
2) How are some of the nation's strictest gun control laws workin' out for you?
3) Is it any surprise that Chicago saw the greatest population loss of any major U.S. city in 2015? The only one of the 20 most populous cities to lose population? The greatest population loss of any Metropolitan Statistical Area in the U.S.? The first population decline in Chicago in 25 years?(

I feel somewhat sorry for peaceful law abiding people living in Chicago but for the most part they are getting exactly the government they vote for. Chicago is what Obama, Clinton and the progressives want for the rest of America.

Anyone have a quick overview of the current gun laws in Chicago?
My recollection was that Chicago had a de facto ban on the individual ownership of handguns until 2010 when the Supreme Court incorporated the Second Amendment against the states (McDonald v. City of Chicago). I didn't follow the case back to the 7th Cir. to see the actual impact of the SCOTUS ruling.
Seems like there is a potential argument for gun-grabbers to say, "See what the Second Amendment has done to Chicago?" Makes me cringe.

It's all the fault of those third world cesspools, Wisconsin and Indiana! But for their law of the jungle situations and street corner arms bazaars, Chicago might have a chance. Poor Rahm, having to contend with crime and criminals flowing in from every direction ...
Oh yeah, I got it backwards...
Indiana and Wisconsin don't have rampant crime problems and do allow their residents to participate in self defense and personal security.
You'd think by now that at least a few people would start to question their conditions.

Thanks for the great list to help me understand some of the most creative gun laws in the country.
Objective Achieved: So complicated that 100% compliance is impossible.

Despite the unfortunate name, that's one of the greatest crime stat presentation sites I've ever seen. Charts rule. However, I'm concerned that its presentation is slanted by providing incomplete criminal related injuries for comparison.
- Featured: Gun related injury w/o death
- Featured: Gun related injury w/ death
- Ignored: Non-gun related injury w/o death
- Mentioned: Non-gun related injury w/ death
Still a fun site.
