I have a question I will be traveling to FL for my birthday in the next few weeks. I know the rules for taking my weapon in my carry on but I am curious on a place to review some of the FL laws just so I know what I can and can't do there.
Also does anyone know if the major parks frown on CC or have rules stopping this? I again know I will need to check while I am there but would rather go prepared. :-) Thank you!

CCW Concealed Carry 50 State Guide is a great android app. Not sure if it's out for iPhone. Cost a couple of bucks but has been great traveling and wanting to check something quickly. Updates regularly also.

Air travel is no big deal (both outbound from TX and in Orlando). I just declared, filled out the little card and locked in a hard sided container. Check the airlines for any peculiarities, but it's pretty much a non issue. I think i carried ammo in the original box vs. in the magazines but I've heard some people leaving them in the magazines.Amonix wrote:I have a question I will be traveling to FL for my birthday in the next few weeks. I've traveled to FL a few times and carried. I think the major parks have gotten a little more tricky since I hear they wand you now. When I was there about 5 years ago, I did carry in the parks (pocket carry). They were at the time only searching bags. My understanding of the law there is it's not illegal to carry, but if they find a gun they'll probably make you leave. I'd probably avoid carrying there if i went again today.
Laws are pretty similar to TX except for the 'bar' carry. I think the restriction there is you can carry in a restaurant that serves alcohol but not in the bar area.
Concur with others who advised checking the handgunlaw site. I also have an APP for the iPhone that seemed to have the same laws for all the states that was completely consistent with Handgunlaw. I drove from PA to TX along the east coast then west, and i found it to be a great resource to do a quick check.
Re: FL Carry
Awesome. Thank you for the information. I am going to grab that app. I just wanted to make sure I have everything and the best knowledge is always from those that are familiar with it already.

Re: FL Carry
As we're planning a family trip to FL & Disney in May, this topic is quite timely. I found the following regarding theme parks in the Orlando area:
http://www.disneytouristblog.com/disney ... -security/
Looks like in mid-Dec all of the major parks installed metal detectors at the entrances.
