I'm working on getting an AZ CHL, primarily for reciprocity in Nevada (Planning a trip there in April) and they still use ink fingerprint cards.

Now that we're all electronic for Texas LTC/CHL fingerprinting, I've run into a small snag...I don't know of anyone still offering fingerprinting services in Houston!

I *think* that some of the Harris County SO offices may still do paper fingerprints, but on their website they specifically state they won't do Handgun Licensing fingerprints. My guess is that once I go explain that I'm working on an OOS license, it may not be an issue...but I'd rather just do it with a private agency so maybe I can drop in (or at least work around my work schedule better).

So, it occurred to me that several of my fellow instructors used to do fingerprints. Are any of you still setup to take prints? And if so, do you use the "Black thermal impregnated fingerprint ink" described in Arizona's instructions (for all I know, that's just a long description for "common fingerprint ink" but I have no clue.)

Any advice for ink fingerprints for an AZ License?

For my FL renewal my local PD scanned my prints electronically then printed that onto a regular card. IIRC, they charged me $10

I just had some finger print cards done for a background investigation as well. They used the electronic capture device and simply printed it onto the cards as well. It looks like most places do it this way instead of using the old ink pad.
