St Louis Missouri - Airport shuttle/subway questions.

So, flying into STL airport in St. Louis this week. I can either take a shuttle bus to the downtown hotel or I can take the subway.

After reviewing handgunlaw.us for MO info, I find that MO 571.107 states any of the places listed 1-17 are off limits, but the signs have no force or law. ("shall not be a criminal act but may subject the person to denial to the premises or removal from the premises.") :thumbs2:

However, 578.305 makes carrying on a bus a class C felony. :banghead:
4. Any passenger who boards a bus with a dangerous or deadly weapon or other means capable of inflicting serious bodily injury concealed upon his person or effects is guilty of the felony of "possession and concealment of a dangerous or deadly weapon" upon a bus. Possession and concealment of a dangerous and deadly weapon by a passenger upon a bus shall be a class C felony.
I note from google streetview, the subway entrance is posted no weapons. However, I assume a subway is not a bus. Seems like I can carry on the subway. Anyone have other information?

As far as taking the airport-hotel shuttle, I guess it matters whether I am in the passenger van (top) or shuttle bus (bottom):

Anyone have familiarity that can give guidance? I don't necessarily want to rely upon plain statute language if there is messed up case law, or a local statute, that can screw me up.

Finally, seems like I can pretty much carry anywhere I want (including riverboat gambling if inclined) so long as I conceal well and do not get confronted. Correct?

First off, I believe the bus is public transportation bus, not a private hotel shuttle. It might include the shuttle bus to the rental car place, but not sure. It is just one of those not really defined well.

Now, for the riverboat casino, no you can't. You better read this http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/missouri.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and look at prohibited locations 12.

It also says if Jumping Frog has a concealed carry permit, it's not a criminal act but may subject him to denial to the premises or removal from the premises. If he refuses to leave the premises and they call the police, it's $100 fine.

I don't have any personal experience but 578.300 defines a bus as "having a seating capacity of not less than fifteen passengers" among other things FWIW. Also, I heard firearms aren't allowed on the train by METRO rules but don't know what force of law that carries. Good luck and bon voyage.

Thanks all. I rode the Metro while armed. It was posted no weapons, so I was grateful the sign had no force of law.

Given the crowd that was on the Metro, I was also grateful to be armed.

Correct. All places listed as off-limits are that way in the fact that the act of carrying is not criminal, but means you are trespassing if you are carrying, which is against the law, no matter what the penalty is.
