Moved to AZ

Have a quick question for everyone. I tried to use to search function but didn't quite find my answer.

I graduated from Texas A&M in 08, took a year off, and am now in medical school in Phoenix, AZ. I moved out to Phoenix in August. I got my CHL in 06 while at A&M. It is set to expire in October of this year.

I had assumed that since I was moving out of state that my license would be invalid and did nothing about it. I carried quite a bit in TX and planned on getting an AZ CHL but got so wrapped up in school I let it go by the wayside.

It seems that I can in fact change the address on my license to my AZ address but is it OK to do so this long after a move? I'd love to get back to carrying (especially late night Walmart grocery runs). Would it be better just to go ahead with the process of the AZ license?

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

http://www.opencarry.org/opencarry.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; states that AZ is a Gold Star Open Carry state Open carry will allow for your personal protection while you resolve your CHL residency question/s.

Good luck.

You can change the address on your CHL by going to the DPS website and requesting a change of address. IIRC, there is no information requested about how long it has been since your address changed. I think it will cost about $24.

AZ looks like a good CHL to get, so that may be a better option for you depending on your plans after graduation. You can look at reciprocity info on http://www.handgunlaw.us" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
