the Nebraska A.G. has now completed the reciprocity list. Texas has been granted it, with the caveat of 21 and older.
You can see his letter at this site
http://www.ago.ne.gov/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Look in the upper right hand corner, you will see a link that will open a PDF document of his letter.
As one who travels a lot to Nebraska (go Huskers) I'm very happy.

I wish more states would do this rather than denying reciprocity to all Texas CHLs because a few are issued to soldiers/veterans under 21 (I'm looking at you, Washington and Nevada).

GREAT NEWS!!!!!! I updated the Reciprocity Map......

I sure hope other states that won't reciprocate will now follow NE's lead with the 21+ requirement. I even have the map ready to handle it with a newly created "21" button.....

You sure you've got the key on that map right? Looks to me like the red areas are just the high crime areas, not the areas that don't recognize TX CHL permits.

I wrote a congratulatory letter to the Nebraska AG months ago when their law was first passed and asked when Texas might be added to their reciprocity list so that I could put Nebraska on my companies approved list of vendor states. I posted that letter here in this section somewhere. About a week ago, I received a voice mail from a woman in the AG’s office telling me that the list was complete and that I might be glad to know that Texas was on it. I was very surprised I received that call.
I don’t see why Nevada can’t take the same path Nebraska has in recognizing a Texas CHL “if you are also 21 year of age”. I would like to carry in Nevada, but there are no states that Nevada recognizes that issue non-resident permits.
I believe I could still take a class in Nevada and apply in person there to get a Nevada CHL, but I think you still have to list a particular gun (which is ignorant) and I would prefer to do other things when I get a chance to visit Nevada, which won’t be until I can legally carry there again. Oh well, one step back and one step forward.
Perhaps it would have some effect if Texas CHL holders wrote to Nevada explaining the intelligent approach Nebraska has taken and that they do not intend to visit or do business with any Nevada company until a Texas CHL is again recognized. It never hurts – I was surprised by the personal response from Nebraska, so you never know. I will myself, write to Nevada on this issue.
Stay Safe,
TEX

I haven't been this excited since I saw they made a jar of peanut butter with grape jelly already swirled in! I finally don't have to lock up the gun in the back of the car when I'm visiting the wife's family in Nebraska! I used to stop just inside the Nebraska/Kansas border and lock up the carry gun in the back of the 4Runner in its case till we crossed the border on the return trip.

Coolness. We're going to Yellowstone next spring, and I was wondering if I was going to have to go around Nebraska. :)
