Flying into Baltimore

I am flying into Baltimore Tuesday. From there I will rent a car and drive to State College, PA. I know I cannot carry in Maryland. My question is, when I return to the Baltimore Airport, will I have any problems declaring my firearm? I will put my gun in a locked case, in my luggage prior to crossing the border into Maryland. Thanks in advance.

16 March 2008 -delivery to DPS
28 March 2008 - status "Processing Application"
29 May 2008- "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active"
2 June 2008- Plastic in Hand
