A friend of mine went down this road recently. She ended up getting a Texas CHL because she didn't want to deal with a possible inconvenience if an officer isn't completely clear on the reciprocity laws. A Texas resident with a Texas DL and address but carrying under the authority of a UT license but never lived in UT? By the time you get things sorted out, you probably would've spent less time and money if you just got a Texas CHL.

I think from my onw experience that this is less of a problem than we make it out to be. But I wold urge anyone living in TX to get a TX CHL anyway. Support your state.
