Representative John Kavanagh (R-23) introduced Arizona HB2535 that would require a CLEO to sign off on a required NFA transfer if the person legally can possess the NFA item. This is something Texas needs.

Actually, what we need is for no CLEO sign off for NFA. But, I do agree if an individual needs a CLEO, then we should have a law requiring them to sign if qualified. Most of our customers either buy them in a corporation or a trust to work around the system.

Well yeah, but that's something that has to be changed at the federal level, whereas requiring the CLEO to sign off for anyone who's not a prohibited possessor is a fix that can be applied at the state level.RX8er wrote:Actually, what we need is for no CLEO sign off for NFA.

As long as it's changing "may sign" to "shall sign" I would agree with it.
