That's a risk when citizens in a state elect pro gun legislators.
I sincerely apologize to anybody I offended by suggesting the Second Amendment also applies to The People who don't work for the government.

We really have reached the point of ridiculousness in Texas. We have to elect more "Cruzs" and less "Straus'" next session . We should be able to get whatever we want, and somehow bills sit in waiting.

Waiting for a true conservative...

And I am sick of my brothers in VA making fun of me. They have OC and signs that mean nothing. I love Texas, but something has to give...and more than likely it will be me to anyone who runs against Rinos next session...

I just moved here in January from Georgia. So far I love Texas more and more each day. That said, the lack of open-carry is really sad. There are two areas where Texas could learn something from Georgia. The first is when I got my Georgia Weapons Carry License it took a grand total of 12 working days (and a total of less than $100.00 for ALL fees) from when I applied to when I had the license in my hands. Oh, and that was over the Thanksgiving holiday. The second is that very simply signs carry no legal weight in Georgia. Unless a direct representative of the owner (i.e. at minimum a manager) of whatever establishment you are in asks you to leave, then you are free to carry unless otherwise restricted by state law.

Texas is the last great hope for our beleaguered nation so this nonsense about not allowing open-carry strikes me as completely insane. Even Mississippi just passed open carry so now Texas is one of SIX states that do not allow it. What is the hold up with Texas on this? Having this great state lumped in with Washington DC, Illinois, and New York is insulting.

No, I love Texas and am fiercely proud to call the state my home now (and I was born and raised in CT) but on this issue, Texas is just dead wrong. I hope it changes. :patriot: :txflag:

I came from New Mexico where they have unlicensed open carry (if I remember it is constitutional open carry). I love my new home state but New Mexico was always very pro-gun.

I am very anxious to Texas to take the steps to allow OC. That being said, however, I can't think of many situations I would OC in my current day-to-day life.

Looking at the stalling this session, it seems pretty obvious the ones holding the reins in Austin are more New Yorker than Texan at heart.
