I don't know why Beale St. in Memphis would be any different from any other street in Memphis, but I would refer you to this link: http://apps.carryconcealed.net/packngo/.

I'm not sure if it's still the case but the streets in the drunk and disorderly zone were off limits for CHL. The rest of Memphis was CHL friendly and carry is recommended.

Tennessee accepts CHL from any state but carry isn't allowed in the Beale Street entertainment district. http://www.rangemaster.com/publications ... -guns.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
When in doubt

I enjoyed the Gibson factory tour. Barbeque was over rated.

You ain't just whistlin' Dixie. If I recall correctly, Tom Givens says approximately 10% of the justifiable homicides in the US each year happen in Memphis.

THREE good reasons to give Memphis a wide berth.

It is not against the law to carry in the Beale St. district. It's against the law in Tennessee to carry past any restriction meant to prevent guns from entering -- signs, no matter the structure, have the weight of law, and police barriers with signs have the same weight. This is the case in Beale St., sadly, because nowhere else in Memphis does one need a gun more than on Beale St. The powers that be have convinced all of the establishment owners that they need to post their premises off limits to gun owners. In my experience, the police at the barricade will simply turn you away. If you somehow get past the barricades intact with your weapon, and are caught in one of the establishments, then you are in a heap of trouble.
