They did NOT, myself and thousands perm resident of TX are still denied. Selectively allowing some CHL to carry while others are not is simply a clear discrimination.

I said SOME. I understand you are still affected by their rules. They will not issue a CHL to a non-resident alien who resides in their own state, so it is a full restriction they have.

As a Texan, I'm more concerned about why Texas legislators hate paramedics, college students, and waitresses.

I was thinking about the 20 year old paramedics, college students, and waitresses who can't get a Texas CHL because their lives are worth less than 20 year olds who took a different career path.

However, you make a good point about prohibited lcations and we can add sports fans to that list.

Hospitals are not off limits, neither are college campuses (just the buildings), but bars are IF they are 51%.

Yeah, I understand where you are coming fromunderstand. However, the 30.06 sign is a private business restriciton, not a state statute restriction . As for college, guess you can do an online degree. I would like to see college buildings being legal for carry though.

Keith, there is one other problem with the way things are in regards to colleges. Technically, it is legal to have the firearm in your vehicle. And if found out, you can't be prosecuted because it is not a crime. However, at the institute of higher learning that I have been attending for the past year and a half or so, they have a policy that if a weapon is found it will result in "academic discipline", that is to say, you will be kicked out. Academic career down the tubes. Now, I do understand concealed means concealed...but when there is a law enforcement training facility at your school, where they have sniffer dogs come in on a regular basis, its hard to conceal things from those dogs...unless I have been misled as to the power of those dogs' sniffers. Thank goodness I am almost done with the program I am enrolled in.

...I have never understood how a dog can smell a gun or ammo through a steel/glass car door...I know they can detect a drop of urine in a mollion drops of water...but that's just a stretch for me to believe...not knowing anything about police dogs...except they hired a couple and put 'em on day shift about 6 mo. before I quit policing...
