My memory ain't what it used to be if it ever was what it used to be. IIRC, these various confiscations (cars, trucks, etc. and their contents) were done back in the 90's under the ruse of drug control and were reported in the Houston wipe. But if it still ain't happenin' now, it ain't happenin'.

I dunno'...maybe I had an epiphany?

Yepper, illegal is illegal regardless of who is doing it and that's the law. :rules:

My wife and I travel to Louisiana to gamble every now and then. When we first started going, I was told I could not store my gun in the hotel safe, so I went to the security entrance at the casino entrance and asked them what the policy was on CHL in the Casino. I was told politely that I should leave it in the holster unless I felt I really need it, and to not drink too much. He also asked me to make sure and spend a lot of money while I was in there. I have been pulled over on I-20 in Louisiana twice, and twice handed them my CHL and Drivers license along with insurance. I got a warning ticket the first time for a burned out rear plate light and a "have a nice day, please get your tail light fixed" from the very polite trooper. Don't understand where the issues seems to be coming from, as I have always been treated with respect by the troopers there.

There could be an issue with the fact the casino has a license to sell alcohol on premise. Any portion of the permitted area of an establishment that has been granted a Class A-General retail permit, as defined in Part II of Chapter 1 or Part II of Chapter 2 of Title 26 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises. You can look up a business here http://atcpub.license.louisiana.gov/Loo ... ookup.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Casino's will more than likely have a Class A permit, so are not legal to carry in.

Maybe they get around it by not selling alcohol in the casino, only in the bar. And the bar is not a registered portion of the casino?
I have been gambling in those casinos for years, and have never purchased a single drink. If you are in the casino, the drinks are free.
I have posed this question to 4 different casinos, and have gotten the green light from all 4.

Would think the liquor license covers the whole casino, but don't know. I would say if a person of authority tells you you can carry, then no one should hassle you about it then. :thumbs2:
