Hey everyone!
At the end of October both of my kids and myself will be driving to Florida.
I only turned in my application September 23rd so the likelihood of me having my CHL by then is not possible.
My question is this : What do you guys recommend I should do with my weapon since I won't be able to carry it on me and I'll be traveling alone with the kids across 5 states.
I'm fairly new at this so any advice would help! :)
(And yes, my husband has his advice which I am sure is the "right" advice but I am curious to hear others opinions. )

Road Trip to Florida
Gun control means being able to hit your target. If I have a 'hot button' issue, this is definitely it. Don't even think about taking my guns. My rights are not negotiable, and I am totally unwilling to compromise when it comes to the Second Amendment. - Michael Badnarik

Re: Road Trip to Florida
I highly recommend researching the cited statues for each state, particularly those listed on http://www.handgunlaw.us" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for each state that you'll travel through.
From my quick look through each of the states that you may be driving through, you should be able to carry in your vehicle in each with the exception of AL and FL. Rules in states vary significantly so be sure that you're familiar with the laws in that state.
Again, I just glanced quickly, so I highly recommend reviewing for yourself.
In states where you are not able to carry, separating the ammo from the gun, storing the gun in a locked case that is in the trunk of the vehicle is what I would advise.

Thank you! I will take a look at the website and know the laws for each state before traveling.
