Re: Word on the Utah concealed carry permit.
My Utah paperwork was received by them on 3/24/09, about 2 seeks after I mailed it. My Utah plastic arrived this week. I didn't worry about the 90+ days that it took though. Perhaps the fact that I already had my CHL made it less of an anxiety producer. Plus, I took the class on January 24 but didn't actually send it in until early March.

Plus, if I'm not mistaken, Utah law requires that they handle the in-state applicants before handling the out of state applicants - which is why it took mine 90+ days to process once they had actually signed for my envelope.03Lightningrocks wrote:bat0man007 wrote:still waitingTry to be patient. They are actually pretty good about getting the permits done in a timely fashion. They have been bombarded like the other states with applications. I bet it shows up within a month. Good luck. Waiting is the hardest part.

I think you may be right. I also think that it is the right thing for them to do. Like you, I already had my Texas CHL which made me less anxious about the wait.The Annoyed Man wrote:Plus, if I'm not mistaken, Utah law requires that they handle the in-state applicants before handling the out of state applicants - which is why it took mine 90+ days to process once they had actually signed for my envelope.03Lightningrocks wrote:bat0man007 wrote:still waitingTry to be patient. Half day class, no shooting qualifications...65 bucks for the permit and only ten bucks to renew. It gives you two additional States that Texas doesn't get. Yep....can't be beat.

It's a shame that location is not included in the list.Crossfire wrote:I don't personally know one. Charles Cotton is in Houston. I am in DFW area.USMC-COL wrote:Is there a Utah concealed firearm instructor in or around San Antonio?
Here is the link to to the list of currently certified instructors: http://publicsafety.utah.gov/bci/docume ... te_052.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I just learned today that my great nephew and wife both took the Texas class two years ago and then didn't have the money for the licenses.
I might suggest Utah to them if someone taught within a reasonable distance of Washington County.
They might also be agreeable to San Antonio.

I sent mine around the same time, and received mine within a few days of you, as well.

FWIW, IIRC, AFAIK, FTMP, IANAL. YMMV.
