I don't have anything documented. But I did talk to two CHL instructors that are still looking into what the state officially has to say about it upon my asking about the 1950 law. They always understood that that law had been amended to allow carry in places that were NOT the primarily distributors of alchohol for consumption the premesis.
In addition to that (and this holds a little more water to me) a co-worker of mine who, up until a year or two ago, was a Ouachita Parish (Monroe Area in NE Louisiana) sheriff's deputy (and still is part time I believe) told me that the way his department has been instructed is this: People with legal CHLs CAN carry in restaraunts that serve alchohol as long as it is not the primary function of the business and as long as they are not sitting at the bar.
