I'll be heading into Sulphur Louisiana tommorrow morning. Unfortunately I can't carry my CCW, I'll be on a company trip in a company truck. I carry a 3 1/2 " fixed blade knife on my belt while at work, and I'm trying to figure out if it will be legel to carry into LA. Here's the LA laws that keep popping up on internet searches...
"Louisiana - R.S. 14:95. Illegal carrying of weapons is...
(1) The intentional concealment of any firearm, or other
instrumentality customarily used or intended for probable
use as a dangerous weapon, on one's person; or
(4) The manufacture, ownership, possession, custody or use
of any switchblade knife, spring knife or other knife or
similar instrument having a blade which may be
automatically unfolded or extended from a handle by the
manipulation of a button, switch, latch or similar
contrivance..."
By reading the above, it sounds like carrying my fixed blade knife on my belt (NOT concealed in any way) should be perfectly legal. Anyone know of any other laws that would say any different??

But it sounds like OWNERSHIP of a switchblade knife is illegal too. Yet I bought some sort of switch or spring assisted knife at a Monroe gun show last year. How is that?
I own a double edged knife that I can keep in my boot that I bought from that same show. I think I can carry it there, but I can't carry it in Texas as I believe double edge knives are illegal (and I think it can also be used as a throwing knife)
