Having never heard of yhis manufacturer before, does anyone have opinions regarding the quality of this manufacturer's products?

I haven't dealt with a complete rifle from them but have used and dealt with some of their accessories and products and all were great. With that being said I would think their complete rifles would be just at top notch and that is a pretty good price to me considering the options added to them. Only downfall would be having Canada flag and stuff on the lower

Their accessories are well-known and of good quality. I have a very expensive AR10 SASS rifle that has a Troy Battle Rail on it.

Troy Industries has a good reputation for their products. And some history....

I was unaware of these two stories, but while the second one poses questions, the first was entirely out of Troy's hands. Dicks screwed them, plain and simple. It is NOT Troy's fault that Dicks took the actions they did, and in fact, one wonders if Dicks didn't default on a contract, and if so, then whether or not Troy has legal remedy in court. If it is true that they invested millions to gear up for a singed contract, then I would seek relief if I were them.

There is, however, one comment in the Troy letter which doesn't make sense, and that is their statement about Dicks diluting the Troy brand by selling the rifles at steeply discounted prices. The truth is that Troy diluted their own brand by agreeing to enter into mass production for sales to a discount sporting goods store. Just what did they expect would happen?

I would be interested in one of the full 16" ones, but it shows that the flash hider is pinned and welded. So no easy way to change flash hiders.. right ?

there's no reason for the 16' barrel to be pinned now the 14.5 yes it will be

If you look at the website it says that even the 16" is pinned. Likely because they were produced for Canada and different regulations there ?

My post wasn't meant as a criticism of Troy Industries, I was just providing information.

I'm sure Troy hoped to gain national attention for their products through their arrangement with Dick's. And, were quite surprised when Dick's dumped the rifles at cost as a loss leader. MSRP was $1099.00 and while inexpensive in that heated up Obamarket, it wouldn't be during anything like normal times at ye olde gun shoppe.
