Looking for opinions for a .270
I will be in the market soon for a .270. Haven't owned a bolt action, only semi auto rifles, so looking for some opinions on which ones I should be looking at that won't break the bank.

Are you looking to spend less than $400 or less than $600.
Around 400 or less:
1) Savage Axis II
2) Ruger American
3) Remigton 783
Around $600 or less.
Tikka T3 in 270.

A friend of mine picked up a very nice Browning A-Bolt at a pawn shop.

Savage makes a very economical rifle that shoots great. If you can afford it, step up to the accutrigger models. They're nice.

I've had a Savage (no idea on the model as I was young when I got it) for almost 20 years. For the price it's a great shooting rifle.

I have a .270 Ruger Hawkeye in stainless steel and synthetic stock, it's a very good shooting rifle and easy to field-strip. .270 is a great caliber for deer-sized critters.

I've got a Remington 700 ADL in .270 and considering the cheap price it is a very good rifle. Has a trigger that is very similar to the Savage accu-trigger line and is quite accurate. I got it for less than $400 with a cheapo scope.

I have a NIB Stevens 200 in .270, unfired with Leupold scope base, and 100 rounds of ammo.
I think I have $360 in it, will sell for that.
Wait, you said you wanted opinions. Don't have any on .270, sorry
