Check right after Xmas. There supposed to be restocking coming then at a lot of dealers

It's going to last a while, this panic buying. And my sense is that over the next few weeks, gun suppliers are going to start holding off on replacing their inventory when they sell it off, simply because they aren't going to want to get stuck holding the bag for a bunch of weapons that they can no longer legally sell if the commies in Congress and our commie president sign an AWB with strict parameters making it impossible for us proles to overcome the barriers to ownership. The supply chain is going to be very thin and limited until the AWB issue is decided one way or the other. Economics 101.

Maybe, but I don't want to be the large scale gun-seller who has 500-1,000 AR15s in stock or at the warehouse which I can no longer sell if I still have them on hand when a bill passes, and if I cannot return them to the wholesaler or manufacturer for credit. And if an AWB fails to pass, they will still be able to sell the guns. They just won't sell 'em as fast, or be able to mark them up as highly. If a bill does pass, a small mom & pop store will have an easier time selling off 2 or 3 ARs before the law goes into effect than a big box store will have selling off a much higher number......particularly if a new bill retroactively bans those guns that are already in private hands, because then people won't even be able to buy them as a speculative investment.

I know him & he has not jacked up prices to gouge.

In Lubbock, Academy has sold out and said they are on hold for any more stock, Gander Mountain has sold out or pulled the rest of their stock, a gun pawnshop said they had two this morning, a DPMS and a RR each for $1,200 and no bare receivers, an AR gunshop who always has them is sold out and could not get their suppliers up on their website this morning, one gun shop who was high to begin with has jacked their AR's to $2,500. Bud's looks like it has run dry. Maybe try Gunbroker.

I was at Reds in Pflugerville yesterday (12/21) and it looked like they had a few left on the rack. I did not see the prices though.

You might try Ray's Hardware in Dallas.

I was able to get my hands on one and purchase it Thursday. Just barely though. By the time I walked out of the store they only had one left and had seven when I first arrived. Now I just wish I could find some more mags and ammo for it. The LGS I bought mine from would only sell one extra mag and three boxes of ammo with purchase of the AR.

The low to mid range ARs are probally all gone, what might be left are the high end ones if you're lucky to find them.

After Obama was re-elected, a friend sold 2 ARs to an elderly couple in their 80s, who wanted Christmas gifts for each other; the woman complained about the $1,000 each price .... he's calling her to offer to buy them back for just what she paid, says he can get triple that on gunbroker now.


The deal isn't just that stores are sold out; distributors are out or almost out, and more need manufacturing now

Gaughran added that once he is sold out of the AR-15, it could take months to restock because the manufacturers cannot make it fast enough and distributors are having to ration them out to all their different dealers.
