Who has one? How do you like it, what do you use it for?
I just picked one up yesterday. For now its a bit of range toy, but I'm planning to make it an SBR, which should drastically improve its usefulness.
Here it is next to my Glock 19 for size reference.
Details: Del Ton lower, 7.5" stainless steel barrel with a 1:9 twist, YHM rail, Hogue grip, Magpul flip up sights.
Haven't had a chance to take it to the range yet, and probably won't get to until after all the Christmas stuff is over.
From just handing it, I like it a lot. I hear that the 7.5" are loud, so I'll probably look for a better brake to try and reduce its "flashbang" quality.
Feel free to share yours, ask questions, whatever.

You probably know this, but there are implications about making the SBR.
I have a pistola upper that I am waiting on the pistola buffer tube to complete. It is not as short as yours. I think mine is 10".
I will let you know when it is finished.

Yeah I've been reading up on all of that.
I understand there's some drawbacks and costs.....but just from dry firing/handling the thing, I think it would be a lot more useful with a stock.
Maybe when I get it to the range I'll change my mind and keep it as a pistol.
I'm considering changing the sights too. Plastic sights are fine on a range toy, but if I decide to actually keep it as a trunk gun or something, I think I'd prefer something a little more durable.

I think that once it is mated to a rifle lower and licensed as an SBR it cannot go back to being a pistol. I may be mistaken, of course, but I remembersomething like that.

True. Once an SBR it can still be configured as a pistol but it will always be an SBR.

From the research I did building my SBR you can go back to a regular rifle, stockless pistol, basically whatever you want. SBR is just the status of the barrel <16" and/or OAL < 26". Same as a pistol like a 1911 with a detachable stock. You can put a different upper on it to go hunting or long range then go back all you want. However the lower is still registered as an SBR unless you get ATF approval to decertify it. That is the big bonus of getting the stamp is that you can do any configuration your heart desires other than FA.

The lower is what is registered. The serial number of the firearm is entered into the NFA registry where it remains forever. You can change the barrel length and stock as much as you want, it will always be a registered Title II firearm.

Cool gun for sure, I have always wanted an AR pistol. Get a good single point sling for it and you can use the sling to help stabilize the weapon by looping the sling over your body/shoulder and pulling away from you until the sling is tight. Its not as good as a stock but its a lot better than trying to stabilize it and get a sight picture with nothing at all.

I'm on my second AR pistol. the first had a 7.5" barrel which was too loud. My current one has a 10.5" barrel and I like it alot. I thought about SBRing it but I use a SpecterGear single point sling and it works really well. Everyone I let shoot it keeps trying to put the buffer tube on their should like a rifle and I have to show them how to use the sling or just put the tube on their cheek. It's not like it recoils much. It does throw a good flame.

I had forgotten about this thread.
I've taken the gun to the range several times now (though not as much as I'd like...stupid ammo panic).
It does have a bit of a bark to it, but it's more controllable and comfortable to shoot than I was led to believe after reading others posts about AR pistols. It is far from a sub MOA shooter in my hands, but I can keep the entire magazine on a 12" plate at 25 yards and a man sized target's torso at 100 with no real troubles, which isn't bad.
It's light, handy and portable. I like it.
Ballistics aren't great out of the 7.5". I'd like to try out some of the lighter grain varmit/self defense loads on some prairie dogs or better yet hogs just to see how they'd perform.
I was originally planning on SBRing this bugger. Now I'm considering buying a 10.5" upper and making an SBR with it and a different lower so I can hang onto this one as a pistol.

I'd heard that the 7.5" could be problematic. Mines run 100% so far.
It was loud, but recoil was manageable. Still kicked less than an AK or shotgun.
