Newest AR Build

#1

Post by i8godzilla »

Just finished my latest AR build. Need to find some optics for it next. I had the stripped lower and BCG and was saving my pennies to complete this build. I am guessing someone 'hacked' my computer and shared my parts spreadsheet with my son and daughter (thanks Honey!). They provided me the rest of the components for Christmas. Now I have to wait until Saturday to sight it in. (As a courtesy to those living near me, I try not to discharge to many weapons at my place during the week.)

Very nice! I'm a FDE fan myself. Is that a Magpul flip up rear sight? I have a troy on mine that I want to get duracoated FDE.

@texasnron-- Thanks! Yes, it is also a Magpul. It was not my first choice but I'll find out how much I like or dislike it this weekend. This was the first time I went the FDE route.

I have a set of Magpul NIB carbine length hand-guards in FDE if someone want to make an offer. Otherwise, I am just going to have to build another rifle around them. :evil2:

Nice build! I have an Aimpoint Comp ML3 with a Larue high, and an Aimpoint low mounts, and rubber cover I could part with.

Any reason you mounted the rear sight that way?

+1. It's mounted backwards...

Nice rifle though. Big fan of KISS carbines.

I am pretty sure I mounted it correctly the first time. However, I am still waiting to hear from my son as I think he reversed it on me. We both have a history of prankig each other. Over the holidays, I put the scope we bought him for Christmas on backwards, he paid no attention until he went to bore sight it. His favorite prank is to slip a .357 round into his revolver when we are shooting .38 out of it and then hand it to me to fire.

Or I could have just screwed it up. Thanks for pointing it out as I would have not noticed until I went to shot it.

A little rich for me at the moment. However, my birthday is the beginning of March. Can I give my wife your email address.
