In the process of joining PSC for the skeet and long range rifle shooting.
Looking for a 20ga. semi automatic shotgun.
Not really seeing anything.
Have seen where lefties say they don't notice the shells ejecting across their field of vision.
Would like some experienced lefties opinion on this.

I shoot left-handed. I've never shot a left-handed shotgun, or a left-handed rifle. It doesn't cause any trouble for me.

I have been left handed my whole life
The only thing I have noticed is that after A LOT of shotgun shooting, I will often have some unburned/partially burned powder on my face ( some black flecks). I have never seen the ejected shell fly out in front of me.

When I was in the Air Force, part of our marksmanship qualification (M-16) included shooting from both strong and weak sides. I can't remember ever hearing anyone complain about ejected brass, except the guy to your right when a hot piece of your brass went down his shirt collar.

What brand o/u?
Doesn't seem to be much middle ground with shotguns. They are either $400.00 or $1,400.00. Have seen some good things on the Yildiz o/u's for the prices.
I have a old Browning (71 model i think) my dad left me i am going to start with. Gun hasn't been shot in years. I've cleaned it and greased it real well. Action still seems pretty tight.
BPS prices on the big three brands seems kind of high.

I'm left eye, right handed. I shoot lefty
I stick with o/u and the BPS, it ejects out the bottom, but has s thumb safety like the o/u
Truth is, the shell ejection bothers me less the the safety location.

I meant Bass Pro Shops when making the BPS Reference. Thanks.
Had no idea shotguns had gotten so expensive.
Also want a black gun.
Plan on waiting till i start visiting the range to make up my mind.
Did handle a Beretta semi auto at BPS and liked the feel.
The Browning Citori felt really good as well.

I'd look at used citori and other name brand, see lots of them on guntrader and nice pawnshops.

Browning bps has the safety on top and the shells eject out the bottom. Academy has them.

"I shoot an over and under. Of course mine is left-handed."
I shoot a left handed O/U as well, but I shoot it right handed.

I know you're only joking, but if you look carefully some stocks are angled very slightly to one side or the other to accommodate left or right handed shooters.
Therefore, an O/U could have a definite "handedness." I wish I knew more about properly fitting a stock. If I did I'd post a link. Its a subject I've been meaning to read up on lately, so maybe this thread will get me off my lazy butt...
Anyway, to get back on topic, I'm a lefty who shoots a right handed 870, and I've never had problems with the shells obstructing my field of vision during doubles.
I've also shot right handed Beretta semis with no problems.
