My service grade Winchester Garand was delivered at 0845 this morning. I've got some cleaning to do!

CMP received my order on 1 Dec. It has been a very long 67 day wait!

Here she is with her little sister. Also a Winchester from CMP.
The Garand was made in Aug '42 and the carbine in May '44.

Very nice. I've been contemplating ordering an IBM carbine just for the novelty of having a rifle from the computer company I used to work for.

WOW! That's gorgeous. I think I'll have to order one myself.

Can't tell about the metal, but the picture makes it look like one of the nicest stocks I've seen on an SG . . .
Any interesting cartouches?
Markings on the bolt, barrel, trigger group, etc? Just wondering how close to "correct" it is.

Stock is new CMP birch. Walnut on order. This sweetheart is all SA parts except the receiver! I love it anyway. NM op rod and gas cylinder, front sight. All metal is in excellent condition. If CMP found some correct grade Winchesters I think they would be up for auction. Most of the current bunch are like this.

I'd love to have one, too, but the people who have one seem awfully proud of them.

CMP still has some rack grade IBM carbines. Be prepared for a very long wait!
