7.62x39 AK mag bolt action?
Does anybody make such a gun?
I’ve seen .223 AR mag bolt actions, but would prefer one to go with my AK.

Ruger ranch 7.62x39, uses a mini 30 magazine. Great value if you can find them. CZ makes a few really nice ones, I think the model is 527. Also Howa 1500.

TriStar made one called the M10-A2 - looks kind of like a Lee Enfield - but I couldn't vouch to their availability.

If you're willing to spend the coin, you can get a Texas made custom from Shilen. They're in Ennis.

The best bang for your buck will be the Ruger. The nicest one in my opinion without going custom is the CZ

Well, I finally picked up one of the Rugers today. I also found a guy on YouTube who converts them to take the AK mag

Re: 7.62x39 AK mag bolt action?
I acquired one of those Ruger American Ranch rifles in 7.62x39mm recently. It took me a long time to find one. I made a post about it not too long back. I like the rifle quite a bit, though it doesn't like the 10-round Mini-30 magazines all that well. The next-to-last round forces the last round to nose dive into the front of the magazine, but feeds fine up to that point. Works perfect with the 5-round magazines and does pretty well with the 20 round magazines, too. Hope you enjoy yours.

CZ used to offer several (now discontinued) rifles in that caliber. Perhaps you can find a used one available somewhere. Here’s a list: https://cz-usa.com/?s=7.62x39.
Also, they offer several new models in 7.62x39. This one looks interesting: https://cz-usa.com/product/cz-600-alpha/.
Also, this one (NOT the cheapest) looks interesting and is also available in 7.62x39: https://cz-usa.com/product/cz-600-trail/

After I got the Ruger I immediately contacted Andrew Brandenburg https://youtube.com/@andresfueurcastle9846 to see about getting his AK magwell. Got it in last night. It wasn’t quite within spec, so he is sending me another one. I requested mine to be in black, but he normally paints the magwell to match the stock. He has been great with communication.

I may get the trail in 223. It looks interesting, and it is already threaded for a can. I would pass on AK Caliber unless the shooter would like to shoot cheap surplus ammo for plinkingThe Annoyed Man wrote: ↑Sun Nov 27, 2022 2:29 pm CZ used to offer several (now discontinued) rifles in that caliber. Did some video watching on the 600 Trail in 223, sub par accuracy.

I’d do one in 6.5 Grendel, but I agree that 7.62x39 wouldn’t be my primary choice for this application. Now a .300 Blk would be cool.Beiruty wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 10:39 amI may get the trail in 223. It looks interesting, and it is already threaded for a can. Too bad about the accuracy. That’s kind of surprising, since CZ has a reputation for making accurate rifles.
