No, I'm pretty sure not.RogueUSMC wrote:I see that but if you have a 14.5" barrel and pin 1.5" of muzzle brake on it, it is not an SBR. Can you do the same with a can in lieu of the brake? and only pay the suppressor stamp?

Yes, it's legal to use a permanently attached silencer to increase the length of a rifle barrel to >16" so the rifle remains a non-NFA firearm. The Annoyed Man wrote:No, I'm pretty sure not.RogueUSMC wrote:I see that but if you have a 14.5" barrel and pin 1.5" of muzzle brake on it, it is not an SBR. Cool. All good things to keep in mind for future builds. You know, when I started out, I was just gonna build this one...lol.

While it's legal, I would suggest it's generally not a good idea though. Just pay the extra $200 and register an SBR too. Integral suppressors are nice, but they generally have a way to remove the baffles for cleaning, which isn't necessarily the case with a suppresor that was designed to be removable but that has been pinned.RogueUSMC wrote:Cool. Also if you only have one suppressor, you're stuck with it on that gun and can't move it to another.
