I finally placed a bid (first time ever) on a gunbroker auction for a left-handed Ruger Gunsite Scout.

Depends on the gun. Generally, if I dont need a small light gun (Ruger Scout, etc), or a bench gun. The 20" will give better performance, ballistics-wise.

But I can't shoot well enough to worry about it, honestly. :fire

Keep an eye on Slickguns.com if you dont win the one you are bidding on. I have seen the Gunsite Scout (Lefty) listed a few times for under $750, most recently I think at $720, at Buds.

Thanks psijac, looks interesting, but will wait until there are some reviews for the lower. TAM, good luck on the auction; will be very interested to see how it shoots "when" you win the auction!

I had too many kid things going on this weekend to get out and shop; hopefully next weekend..... :???:

I won the auction. The price was $757.00.... +$15 for shipping and whatever the FFL transfer fee comes to.

It's en route right now. It shipped from PA yesterday, and it is supposed to deliver to my FFL in Euless on Tuesday the 13th. I think I will be at the range maybe on Wednesday. Ssssshhhhh! Don't tell my clients.

Remingtons large frame AR are DPMS. DPMS actually produces them for Remington and both companies are under the same Umbrella (Freedom Group). Bushmaster may also be under this umbrella but it is a different pattern IIRC uses a FAL pattern magazine. You want gain anything in quality either way the QC on either is only fair but the customer service is good.

Still shopping.... Anyone have any experience with the Rock River 308's?? Almost bought one of their 223's at a gun show last week - really solid weapon. The Sig 716 is getting so expensive, I might as well buy a Scar :( Might just go the other way - buy a cheaper SA 308 and a Ruger Scout.

I have a M4 I built using mostly rock river stuff. and a 20" rock river. And another one of their upper and lower sets. they are very consistent parts in 5.56 in my experience. Very good "bang for the buck"

Thanks Jeep Guy, liking the RR stuff I've looked at better than DPMS .308 I had been considering. The search continues.... :???:
