Find a used Remington 1100 - best $350 I've ever spent.

If you are on a Budget need a gun to Duck & Goose hunt with. I would look at the Mossberg Pump guns. The 500 has a 3 inch chamberr the 535 has a 3.5 inch chamber. I seldom hunt ducks or geese but I got an 835 ( Like the 535) It has gone on more hunts without me than with me ( Friends borrow it ) It works fine. and was inexpensive. You might consider a combo set with 2 barrels for home defense reasons.

I second the Mossbergs but if you just need one to get by and probably won't use much again, go with the Mossberg Maverick 88 Pump. Long Barrel for bird hunting goes for $179 at Academy or $189 for the Short Barrel for home defense. The Maverick 88 gets great reviews and holds 5 or 6 rounds. I am going to get the Short Barrel 18.5" next week when the store by me gets some more in. My 2 cents as I am not a shotgun guy either and just want one for the house to make that pump sound :)
