Who has ARs in stock here in Texas?
Re: Who has ARs in stock here in Texas?
I was in Ray's in Dallas on Friday. It was a mad house! They are sold out, too. They had one AR 10 with night vision scope for $5800. It's probably gone by now. I was looking for a Socum 16, sold out of those as well. No M1As either. They said to check back in June or July, if they are still legal.

Everywhere I looked sold out. I fear before the end of Jan they will have the new ban in place before they get more in stock. ![cryin :cryin](./images/smilies/cryin.gif)

Re: Who has ARs in stock here in Texas?
Went to the High Caliber Gunshow in Pasadena this weekend. All of the stripped lowers that were reasonable in price were gone in the first hour. By reasonable I mean under $300. I kid you not bare no name stripped lower receivers were flying out the door for $299! The only ones left by Sunday were the ones with list prices ranging from $500 to $900. Sad... Seems like no one was interested in 5.7 stuff so I was able to pick up 6 more 50 round mags at $49 a pop for my AR57 build... Thankfully I bought 12 pmags about a month ago. I thought $15 was high at the time. Today I saw them selling for $60.

Cheaper than dirt in McKinney had a good selection on Friday. Prices ran from 1700-2400 dollar, depending on manufacturer.

Perusing the other treads, you'll notice there's no love lost between CTD and many of the forum members here -- but I see this is your first post. While it's certainly a free market and price "gouging" takes both a willing buyer and seller, they are one of many companies who saw fit to double (or more) their prices in recent days -- after halting all online guns sales to review polices that already required all shipments to go to FFLs. While not trying to defend CTD, because recent actions have turned me off as a customer, in response to an inquiry regarding pricing before this panic, I do recall CTD stating that their prices fluctuate to make what they have in inventory last for a specified period of time. I don't know off hand the exact nature of their equation, but I feel good folks would be happy with their existing (or even slightly higher) profit margins and not squeeze the last few customers. Time will tell for CTD if goodwill designed to attract and keep customers or their current pricing strategy works out best.

The Gun Zone had about 4 but that was 3 days ago..
With all this "gun control" talk,
I haven't heard one politician say how they plan to take gun from criminals,
just law abiding citizens.

Agreed, wont go back to their store, or shop online. Also won't miss their tactically dressed salesmen.hpcatx wrote:Perusing the other treads, you'll notice there's no love lost between CTD and many of the forum members here -- but I see this is your first post. Re: Who has ARs in stock here in Texas?
I've never found CTD's gun prices to be cheaper than dirt, so I am not surprised to see them leading the panic gouging.
Re: Who has ARs in stock here in Texas?
When folks talk about Cheaper Than Dirt, are the discussing the CTD Outdoor Adventures off of Loop 820 in Ft. Worth, or the warehouse/online business that is co-located with them? I've done business with both in the past, mostly just ammo purchases from the warehouse CTD. I did buy one firearm from the Outdoor Adventures about 2 years ago and a couple of solid, but inexpensive holsters, too. However, I am NOT happy with the warehouse CTD acting all scaredy cat about selling ARs, etc and trying to backpedal from it. Not sure about the Outdoor Adventures people, but I can imagine their prices have gone up, too. Haven't been in there since this mess started, and really have no desire to go, either. I think I'll pick up ammo from other sources once the panic buying dies down a bit and the stock levels come back up.

As I am not in the DFW area, my comments are all in reference to the online CTD, which is also associated with the McKinney location. I believe other comments to primarily be directed at the same.Heartland Patriot wrote:When folks talk about Cheaper Than Dirt, are the discussing the CTD Outdoor Adventures off of Loop 820 in Ft. not sure about this time around as I haven't been in but both jacked their prices up unreasonably last time around.
