Nice weapon. I got my first Remington 222 in 1962. Back then it was legal for deer and javalina hunting. Still have it, but now it is considered a varmint rifle. The 308 is my preferred hunting rifle now. I have a Springfield M1A .308

Thanks, I've been wanting this rifle for 2 years. I got to shoot someone else's at Elm Fork. It was great. I'm hoping this one will be as good. I'm hoping to get to shoot it next week. I'm gonna be looking for a better scope soon. Right now I have a Nikon Prostaff 4x12 40mm.

I need to check my safe! That looks exactly like mine, right down to the scope and bipod.

Nice weapon. You're going to love it.

Looks like a very nice rifle. Of course, we expect a detailed range report!

I'll let yall know how it shoots. Its the SPS Tactical with the threaded barrel and 1 in 10 rate of twist. I'd like to get a suppressor for it at some point, but i'm still a college student and the gun used up 2 months work of paychecks so my budget is limited.

Pretty sure that any centerfire is still "legal" for deer... Rem 222 is centerfire right?

I have exact same rifle, down to the stock color. With that twist rate it likes the heavier bullets(168gr and heavier). Best grouping factory ammunition that I've found so far is 168gr Hornady A-max or Z-max(5-shot group just over quarter size). Tried some Black Hills 168gr Barnes TSX Match the other day, very disappointed. Figured it would be much better with all the hype about Black Hills, was doing good to keep a 1 1/2" group.
