The other pic with the rider just having it thrown on his shoulder with the bayonet made me cringe a little. That thing is pointy, and one iffy get off might impale you.
Loading gates on Marlins and Winchesters are convenient and probably necessary if you were at the OK Coral but I find most of them pinch my fingers when loading.texasmusic wrote:Nice lever!
I wish henry used the old side gate for loading, I find the tube loaders kind of clumsy...
Glad I could help!texanron wrote:Dang it AEA! You already have me looking on Bud's for price checks. Looks like I already have my Christmas bonus money spent!
Thanks a lot!
I watched as my buddy's Marlin .22 spring tube went sailing into a river once.AEA wrote:Loading gates on Marlins and Winchesters are convenient and probably necessary if you were at the OK Coral but I find most of them pinch my fingers when loading.texasmusic wrote:Nice lever!

Tubular loading such as my Henry are quick to load but not without taking the rifle off aim (general direction) of the target. But in a pinch you can load one at a time in the ejection port as needed for immediate dispatch of whatever.
Tubular loading rifles are fine for hunting and range use.
