What to do when Obama wins?

What to do when Obama wins?
What should us firearm owners do when Obama wins? It is pretty clear to me that he will win the election, maybe not the popular vote, but certainly the electoral vote.
I know he will take away our firearms and ammunition. I know this is possible based on what happened in Australia. Any legislation that a new Democrat controlled congress passes and Obama signs will not be a joke like the Assault Weapons Ban. The legislation will have teeth and actually confiscate semi-automatic weapons, firearms with detachable magazines, require existing weapns to be retrofitted with expensive computer controlled trigger locks, microstamped firing pins, etc.
Even if the law gets eventually overturned by the supreme court, the damage will be done. Your weapons will be gone and there will be no way to get them back.
Does any have plans to bury your firearms somewhere? Where can a buy a gallon tub of cosmoline?

The first thing you should do is get an eye exam. I 100% disagree that NObama is destined to be president. It is pretty clear to me that he will win the election

Pray, because we are going to be beyond repair. Obama will ride in on his unicorn and make the former USSR look like paradise.

Re: What to do when Obama wins?
Right now, RealClearPolitics.com puts Obama up by an average of 4 points, across the major polls. Most polls have a margin of error of 3-4%, which means that - as of TODAY - Obama has, at best, an 8% advantage, and at worst, a 0% advantage. A week ago, it was a dead heat, and the week before that, McCain was up by an equal amount. In the ongoing meetings concerning the Wall-Street bailout (a whole other topic), McCain is coming out looking like the statesman, and Obama looking like the partisan hack. McCain's numbers will likely rise a bit because of this.
In other words, NOTHING is yet clear - except one thing, and that is that defeatism on our part only helps Obama. You want to make sure that he's not President? GIVE, GIVE, GIVE!!! Give of your time, your money, and your effort. Be part of the solution, not part of the defeat. You plan for defeat, and that is what you'll get. You plan for a win, and you may still lose, but at least you can hold your head up about it.

Re: What to do when Obama wins?
I really hope Obama won't win. I certainly will vote the right way, but there are going to be millions of first time voters for Obama. I attended the Texas Democrat primary caucas and saw a hundred college kids who don't know any better, and entire families from grandma in a wheelchair down to the 18 year old son in full baggy FUBU gear, voting for Obama. They brought their kids, including infants, so eveybody could vote. The Hillary voters were either mom or dad from a family, the kids stayed home and somebody of voting age washome watching them. The media and Chicago democrat machine will take care of the propaganda and fraud to ensure Obama wins. We can work hard and give, but I that will make the eventual defeat more bitter.
Back to the topic at hand...what do we do? Million man (armed) march on DC? Civil disobedience? Stock up on black powder rifles and lead smelting equipment?

We weren't whoopped at Pearl, Twin towers, & we aint whooped in this election yet either. How 'bout gettin the women folk to bake a victory cake while we that are men get busy exposing Socialism & fighting for Freedom.
You know, I was just a little fellow & really too young to know what was going on then but maybe, just maybe McCarthy had something right.

Re: What to do when Obama wins?
Bite your tongue sir. Spend the time until the election educating everyone that you can about why they shouldn't vote for NObama. Don't put your job in jeopardy of course, but make sure that your friends and family that might be leaning the other way have the information to make an informed, logical decision. I know that might be like walking on thin ice for some, but if we lose and Nobama wins, it won't be long before it doesn't matter if someone got a little irritated with your political opinions. That will be the least of your worries IMO.jdm wrote:What should us firearm owners do when Obama wins? Did I get all excited when John McCain first threw his hat into the ring? Nope. I was kinda hoping Fred Thompson was gonna make a big splash.
But realistically we have strictly a two-party race here in these last few weeks. Electoral votes will go to either Obama/Biden or McCain/Palin.
I do not trust Obama or Biden (that extends beyond Second Amendment issues), and am doing what I can to support McCain/Palin. One thing on the the McCain campaign Website is a system where you can volunteer to make telephone calls on behalf of the campaign. A basic script is provided, and the system will automatically feed you the next number to call based on your area code. Nifty technology behind the scenes, and a simple way to engage grass-roots participation.
So if you hear my melifluous baritone (ahem) on the line, be sure to use the code words "TXCHL Forum." I'm trying to spend an hour each evening making calls.

1. Obama is going to have a tough go in swing states like Florida. Large Jewish population, and his anti-Israel associations won't help him there. Historically, Democrats get about 85-90% of the Jewish vote, if Obama gets only 75%, he is hurting. Also large elderly population in the Sunshine State (Heaven's waiting room). Those folks turn out, most likely for a trusted figure (McCain), not an unknown quantity (Obama). Also his stated to desire to talk to dictators like Castro and Hugo Chavez without preconditions isn't winning him any love from the Cuban community.
2. These college kids love to register to vote in the primary in March, but by November, most of them will be staying home. Moral, dont count your drunk 22 year old before he's voted.
Don't despair, it ain't over yet.

Re: What to do when Obama wins?
All this being said, I'd like to go back to the OP's post, but reword it with "If" Obama wins...
What do we, as gun owners, need to worry about? Will there be people to collect our guns? Or will the market for AR's (and other guns deemed AR worthy) just cease? We can all say pull a Heston and say "From my cold dead hand" but when it comes to go time, how will we act? This genuinely has me worried. I trust Palin/McCain will win as people are starting to see the true Obama (if they haven't already), but there always needs to be the flip side of the coin.

Remind the RNC they should have nominated a conservative in 2008 (and 2004 and 2000.)jdm wrote:What should us firearm owners do when Obama wins?

Also start working very hard to get a conservative Republican majority back in both house of Congress in 2010

I WOULD LOVE TO VOTE FOR A REPUBLICAN.
I was born too late to ever be able to vote for a real conservative one, however. Barry Goldwater was probably the last, best one.
Having the independant streak I have, I'm going to be burned no matter who I vote for. Whomever I vote for, I'll be taking a hot shower, scrubbing myself with a stiff bristled brush, weeping to myself.
I'll probably vote McCain ONLY because we have a democratic congress, and having a republican in office will help keep government gridlocked. A gridlocked government can't spend my money and take more of my freedoms away.

Re: What to do when Obama wins?
It seems like we never got an answer for the OP's question. It'd be nice to think that the American population would snap out of their trance and wonder how someone with zero experience and socialist/communist friends and tendencies even got to the top of a Presidential ticket. But seriously, if America doesn't wake up in time to see what a farce he is, what do we do?
I imagine his first step will be to force registration as that's always the first step towards confiscation. I would think we don't register, but that means we shouldn't buy new weapons at the store with the NICS app, I would think. For example, I'd love to buy a Sig 556, but those that they know own "assault" weapons would be the first with a knock on the door or worse yet, one of those no-knock warrants. So what can we do in preperation for the upcoming slaughtering of our rights if B. Hussein Obama wins? Stocking up on ammo would be a given as that's about to be taxed to death, but what about the weapons? Do we have confidence that Congress won't go along with his anti-2A ideas since there are some pro-gun democrats in there? What if something as simple as a shotgun that holds 5 or more rounds gets outlawed and they come around to confiscate? What if all semi-auto's get outlawed? Or Concealed Carry?
I think this is a serious question that merits serious and focused debate, otherwise we'll be soon down the same path as Australia or England, where they also thought it would never happen.

You're correct MBGuy. There never was an answer to the original question, and for good reason. Talking about burying your firearms, and government confiscations makes rational gun owners look more like gun "nuts".jdm wrote:Does any have plans to bury your firearms somewhere?
